La Semana de Santa cecilia en Palma de Mallorca

La Semana de Santa Cecilia, Arte y Música es un acontecimiento cultural que nació hace años con el propósito de dar a conocer, a ciudadanos y visitantes, algunos espacios del patrimonio histórico y artístico de Palma de difícil acceso por tratarse de edificios oficiales, religiosos o privados. Cada año, durante una semana del mes de noviembre y alrededor de la fiesta de santa Cecilia —el día 22—, patrona de la música, se organizan seis visitas guiadas por especialistas a otros tantos edificios emblemáticos, relacionados estéticamente entre sí. Desde el gótico, al barroco, pasando por los conventos de clausura femeninos o las parroquias primitivas de Palma, durante estos años el Ayuntamiento, haciendo una decidida apuesta por el turismo cultural, ha facilitado la visita a más de treinta monumentos, explicados por guías preparados especialmente, en grupos restringidos y en varios idiomas: catalán, castellano, alemán e inglés.

Al mismo tiempo, después de la visita, se celebra un concierto de música clásica que organiza una entidad con gran tradición en la ciudad: Joventuts Musicals de Palma. El programa musical diario se selecciona en función de los espacios a visitar y se escogen los repertorios teniendo muy en cuenta los temas artísticos que son el denominador común cada año. Tanto la calidad de dicho programa como la variedad de los intérpretes e instrumentos caracterizan los conciertos preparados a propósito para esta semana singular que ya goza de enorme popularidad en la ciudad.

Se trata de una exclusiva oferta cultural y lúdica que el Ayuntamiento de Palma prepara con especial atención e interés para que todos, tanto visitantes como mallorquines y residentes, disfruten de la mejor música clásica en un marco de particular atractivo, cada año renovado, ameno y sorprendente.
